Los trastornos de las articulaciones y de los m\u00fasculos temporomandibulares, com\u00fanmente llamados trastornos de la ATM son un grupo de afecciones que causan dolor y disfunci\u00f3n en las articulaci\u00f3n y\/o en las estructuras que forman parte.<\/p>\n

\u00bfCu\u00e1les son los trastornos de la ATM?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Los trastornos de las articulaciones de la mand\u00edbula y de los m\u00fasculos de la masticaci\u00f3n, y la forma como la gente responde a ellos, var\u00edan mucho. Los trastornos se pueden dividir en tres categor\u00edas principales:<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0 El dolor miofascial implica molestias o dolor en los m\u00fasculos que controlan la funci\u00f3n de la mand\u00edbula.<\/p>\n

2. Un desarreglo o asimetr\u00eda interna de una de las articulaciones causado por un disco desplazado, la mand\u00edbula dislocada o lesiones del c\u00f3ndilo.<\/p>\n

3. La artritis se refiere a un grupo de trastornos degenerativos e inflamatorios de las articulaciones que pueden afectar a las articulaciones temporomandibulares.<\/p>\n

\u00bfCu\u00e1les son las se\u00f1ales y los s\u00edntomas?<\/h4>\n

Hay una variedad de s\u00edntomas que pueden estar vinculados a los trastornos de la ATM. El s\u00edntoma m\u00e1s com\u00fan es el dolor, especialmente el dolor en los m\u00fasculos de la masticaci\u00f3n o en la articulaci\u00f3n mandibular. Otros posibles s\u00edntomas incluyen:<\/p>\n

S\u00edntomas en Cabeza: <\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Cefaleas<\/p>\n

\u2022 Dolor retro-ocular.<\/p>\n

\u2022 El dolor irradiado a la regi\u00f3n craneal, cervical, hombros.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Limitaci\u00f3n en los movimientos de apertura-cierre, lateralidades y profusi\u00f3n-retrusi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Crepitaciones articulares al abrir la boca o masticar.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Sensaci\u00f3n de taponamiento.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Dolor de o\u00eddo.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Ruidos extra\u00f1os en los o\u00eddos (ac\u00fafenos …).<\/p>\n

\u2022 Sensaci\u00f3n v\u00e9rtiginosa.<\/p>\n

S\u00edntomas en Cuello:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Dolor o dificultad en la degluci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Dolor de garganta.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Limitaci\u00f3n en los movimientos del cuello.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Sensaci\u00f3n de tensi\u00f3n en cuello.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Dolor en cuello, nuca, zona interescapular.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Ardor, inflamaci\u00f3n y congesti\u00f3n en la garganta.<\/p>\n

TRATAMIENTO DE FISIOTERAPIA Y DISFUNCI\u00d3N TEMPOROMANDIBULAR.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Las distintas t\u00e9cnicas de tratamiento en la fisioterapia de la DTM van dirigidas a tratar el tejido \u00f3seo, tejidos blandos y el segmento superior de la columna cervical, siendo las t\u00e9cnicas m\u00e1s importantes la movilizaci\u00f3n de tejidos blandos y la movilizaci\u00f3n articular.<\/p>\n

Terapia f\u00edsica en todos sus campos:<\/strong>\u00a0l\u00e1ser, ultrasonido, Electroestimulaci\u00f3n Nerviosa Transcutanea (TENS), microondas\u2026<\/p>\n

Cinesiterapia: <\/strong>movilizaci\u00f3n articular. Manipulaciones. Movilizaciones tejidos blandos. Estiramientos. Ejercicios de Propiocepci\u00f3n, Coaptaci\u00f3n-decoaptaci\u00f3n\u2026<\/p>\n

T\u00e9cnicas espec\u00edficas:<\/strong> Facilitaci\u00f3n Neuromuscular Propioceptiva (FNP), Reeducaci\u00f3n Postural Global (RPG), T\u00e9cnica de Jones, Punci\u00f3n seca, Relajaci\u00f3n de Jacobson\u2026<\/p>\n
